IPod Music Download Sites - Pros and Cons?

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Are you thinking of purchasing a membership to an iPod music download site? While itunes is great and offers a wide variety of mp3 and movies, it is also very expensive since it is on a pay per download basis.

Many iPod music download sites takes advantage of this point and offers unlimited download for a one time charge. Here are the pros of iPod music download sites

1. Unlimited download – the obvious advantage is unlimited downloads for a period of time. Most music download sites offers life time membership so you only need pay once and can download forever.

2. Cost Savings – Over the long run, getting an iPod download site membership can save you more money than if you were to buy from itunes or a CD.

3. Wide variety of music – There are literally millions of songs you can legally download plus most iPod music download sites also offers other files for download such as TV shows, movies and even games.

4. Free software – Most iPod music download sites provides free software for you to convert songs and movies to iPod compatible mp3 and H.264 video. That’s means you do not need to spend more money purchasing video conversion software.

While there are many advantages to purchasing an iPod music download site membership, there are some points you need to take note.

1. Legality and Copyright Laws – Not all music download sites are legal. Some are fly by night sites that are scams. The files they are offering are illegal and you could be infringing copyright laws by downloading them.

2. Download Speed – Some iPod music download sites are notoriously slow when downloading files, probably because the owners decide to skimp on hosting. So even if there are million of mp3 and movies to download, I am sure you wouldn’t want to spend a couple of hours downloading mp3 and video.

3. Support – Some music download sites do not provide any support at all and this can be a problem if you have problems when using it.

Though there are disadvantages when buying an iPod music download site, I would still highly recommend anyone who download songs and videos often to buy one. You just need to be more careful when choosing an iPod music download site.

“If You Can’t Beat Em’, Join Em’ - Laying Horses On Betting Exchanges

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

“Have YOU ever seen a poor bookie? How many poor bookies do you know? Where do they get their money? FAILED GAMBLERS!”

If its good enough for the bookies…. Beat the bookmakers at their own game and make yourself a long term financially secure future. “Bookies make most of their money laying the favourites. When a short priced favourite loses, bookies make a lot of money. And, this happens more than you might think″

Over tha past ten months I have been researching an extensive database of historical horse racing statistics on the results of ALL flat races throughout the UK. I have been compiling all the results of literally hundreds of races, comparing all the most important variables & essential factors to determine the outcome of a LOSING favourite, in search to be the “King of the Layers” of horse racing.

“After analyzing these months of horse racing statistics data and hundreds of results, certain vital bits of information kept repeating itself … there is a select type of criteria for favourites in certain races, where they consistently get ‘beaten’. This criteria is what i call the ‘essential factors′, that determine the outcome of a particular horse race.”

To that end I compiled all this valuable information into an e-Book called “R.I.W Professional Laying system”.

The e-book covers both Flat Turf/All-Weather and N.H. Racing, to fully explain the key concepts in finding the right horses to lay. The strategy is not complicated and does not require hours studying the form. Essentially, it just relies on a few basic principles and PROVEN factors that created sufficient uncertainty about the outcome of a race to make it attractive to lay a short priced favourite.

The e-book also covers Laying on the exchanges, Laying strategies, discusses the best staking systems, betting banks, record keeping, and of course……………

The strategies for finding a losing favourite are very different to those for finding a winner. Rather than looking for a “dead certs” you are looking for “high uncertainty”.

I have been making a living betting on horse racing for over 10 years. He runs the Turfagent Horse Racing betting advisory service which offers members qualiy daily information, FREE trials and betting systems etc. To find out more, visit turfagent.co.uk and horseracing4laying.com

As far as digital cameras are concerned, Panasonic has got several types of digital cameras which can cater to various audiences depending on their budget and needs. In fact, Panasonic has also entered into an alliance with German camera maker, Leica to develop still digital cameras. The reason for this alliance is the fact that Panasonic is a small player in the digital market today. This alliance will help both Leica and Panasonic to take over an estimated ten percent of the digital camera market share.

Panasonic’s latest line of digital cameras consists of mainly three series. One of these is the Lumix digital camera series. The Lumix camera makes use of lenses provided by Leica. This helps in getting images which are extremely clear and bright. The Lumix is a highly advanced camera and also comes with manual control options. Its shutter interval is also less than 0.04 seconds, hence allowing the photographer to take shots quickly.

Another series of digital cameras are cheaper and smaller, known as the D-Snap digital camera series. These cameras are trendy and small. They are super-slim and come in different colors. The D-Snap digital camera is aimed at teenagers and youngsters who are looking for something smart and trendy and which also fit into their budget.

Mission of Humanity

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

MISSION: To convince as many people as possible (nationally and internationally) of the belief of each person’s worth, rights, and privileges and that it is found and supported best through a government that is formed by the favor of a nation’s people, and operates only in service to the favors and benefits of its people.

BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE

THE KEY: where education and freedom of speech are supported and maintained.

We who posses an understanding and enjoyment of things brighter, whole, lasting, refined, useful, prosperous and all that we can say for which is true and better, can do nothing greater of the same than to impart of it. To give knowledge rather than retain it is the fruition of wisdom. In other words: Prove me wrong and I shall be hear to learn.

There is nothing greater we can do for the Earth and its inhabitants than to teach them that all are equal; wherein each has the right to live, to grow, and to prosper- That each may acquire wisdom and the responsibility to act upon it; That there is no reason that many must suffer so that a few can gain.; That there is no need for people to maintain government that is not structured to maintain its people. Educate them and allow that people inform and educate each other, and the nations which are “up-side down” will turn it self over once again, the backward will go forward, the impoverished will make improvement, the war-torn places shall begin to make repair and its people, no longer misunderstanding each other, shall begin to make peace.

OBJECTIVE: Whereby the people shall be instilled with a desire to actively seek for these rights and privileges- to pursue government which shall prosper its people to implement higher thoughts, nobler deeds, and greater achievements.

None can seek for what they have no faith in and none can have faith in an example and purpose they have never seen. None can morn a loss of what they have never known to cherish, nor can any fight for what they are ignorant of. In this respect, none can change a nation of tyranny that most inside and outside of it does not know about.

The Tiamat and the Winter Withdrawn (Part one of Three)

The Creation of Yort,
And the Land of Sorrows

(Part of the Tiamat Tales)

Written 6-21-2007
Part I of II I Parts

The Tiamat escaped the great winters of 9600 BC, when Atlantis sunk, and the creation of a new continuant was born, called “The Frozen Lands of Poseidon” (present day Antarctica).

At this time, a great catastrophe took place upon the continent of Europe, and Asia as well as—all the way down the Southern Atlantic, the underground, bottom of the sea, opened up and swallowed much of what was land, turned it upside down, or so it seemed, covered what didn’t sink with mud. Legend says, it was then called ‘The Land of Sorrows,’ much of the Atlantean elite, left the so called tips of the mountains of what was left of Atlantis and fled to Crete and Egypt, creating a new race and life, and a secret society within these societies, that would someday become worldwide.

At this time, many of the inhabitants also fled to a land near the Black Sea, where now stands Troy, but before Troy, it was Yort. It was a land set aside, alone on a mountain top, sort of. It could guard itself from the many nations that would in time envy her.,. a great enclosure her people would build, and man and beast would marvel at Yort’s great walls, the envy of the new world. Gilgamesh would try to copy these same walls in his day (2700 BC), the demigod from Sumer.

The Tiamat withdrew from the islands in the Atlantic and during the eruption was cast into the frozen waters of now, the new land, Antarctica.

At this time, Yort, was but a few months old, being build after the destruction of the old world order, which was by the leadership of Atlantis, thus, the first king of Yort was but a King for a very short period of time, called Hellsink (He was as wicket as he was sadistic, he had courage alright, and people of Yort grew to dread him and his ways: he loved the hunting of the wild bear and humans, with hidden eyes. He was at one time an Atlantean with a tinge of Greek heritage in him, a simple soldier, who now became a king. He would take at will, and call it his right, the brides to be in Yort, and if there was any resistance, he would kill the whole family of the bride, to include the groom.

Sunrise, the king’s young wife, also of Atlantean stock, but with Egyptian blood also, feared the king less than anyone, and above all, loved his new found kingdom. In truth, she proved to be a better Queen, than he a king. Straight she walked, and tall, for she had come from a royal house in the Port of Poseidonia, the land of Atlantis. And although the king would rule for less than two years, she would rule for one hundred and twenty-seven, and die at the ripe old age of 175-years old.

And so this is the history of the beginnings of Yort, and the coming of the Tiamat, and the winter she would withdraw from to find her new nest.

Syllables and Stress in Language

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Syllables that are stressed can present another complication when trying to learn a language. Not all languages use stress like English does. In French there is no stress for individual words, although there is intonation (changing the tone of voice) when you are asking a question, which is a different topic altogether.

The rules for assigning stress in English are quite complex. Stress in English is lexical, that is, it comes with a word and usually has to be memorized. Similar words often have similar stress patterns, but this is not always true.

Even words that appear similar can have completely different stress rules. This can really confuse people that are just learning English language.

Take the following two words:

photograph
photographer

Notice that these 2 words are very similar (same root word) and will even appear in the dictionary as one entry. The stressed syllable is different in each case. For photograph, stress the 1st syllable. For photographer, the 2nd syllable is stressed. Even if you stress the wrong syllable (or stress no syllables at all), most English speakers will still know what you mean, although the word may sound a bit unusual. There are a lot of other English words like this which change their stress patterns completely even though a simple suffix (like -er) is added.

Is there an easy rule for determining which syllables are stressed in English? Some languages have predictable stress rules. For instance, in Polish, stress is always on the penultimate (second to the last) syllable. In English, stress and syllable accent is unpredictable. When one learns a new English word, the stress patterns that the word has must be memorized in addition to the definition of the word.

Product naming and pronunciation

In product naming and branding, this is a blessing and a curse: Would you know the correct pronunciation of a name you haven’t encountered yet? The intuitive thing to do would be to look for names that are similar to it, but even this technique can throw you for a loop.

Here’s an example:
If you never saw the name Verizon before, how do you think it would be pronounced? You would probably look for a similar word. But is it more like Amazon or horizon? In both cases the stressed syllables are different! A few years ago, I’ve met some people that would pronounce Verizon (VER-iz-on) with the accent on the first syllable (like the first syllable in the word “very”) so that it would rhyme with Amazon. You would eventually find out (through commercials or whatnot) that the proper pronunciation is (ver-EYE-zin) with the accent on the second syllable, rhyming with horizon.

Stress variation and homographs

A word’s meaning can vary depending on which syllable is stressed, these fall into the category of homographs. This was discussed here: linguisticszone.blogspot.com/2007/05/multiple-meanings-homonymy-vs-polysemy.html homophones/homographs/homonyms.

There are also words that can be pronounced in different ways, with each of them being acceptable (different stressed syllables).

Examples:
kilometer
Caribbean
caramel

These are not considered homographs since the words have the same meaning no matter which way you say them.

Daily Astrology for the Week of July 30 - General Tendencies For All Sun Signs

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Mon 7/30/07 Independence and Short on Patience

We may be feeling rather independent today and ready for the unconventional. Some of us may take this to the point of recklessness or even destruction. Progress may be rather jerky, and we may feel that others are somewhat oppressive. And, we may be a bit short on patience. Emotions may be sensitive tonight, or we may find ourselves easily distracted.

Tue 7/31/07 Feeling Sensitive and Possible Abuse - A Time for Prayer

Those of us up very early this morning, may find ourselves feeling rather frustrated. Use caution driving on the morning commute. The Moon will be void of course most of the morning, so we may find it difficult to communicate with others. Our sensitivity will increase this afternoon, and we may feel that others are really imposing on us. Watch out for emotional and perhaps even physical abuse today. Our emotions could go overboard this evening, and we may be ready to bite someone’s head off. Our connection to the divine will be strong today, and prayer and meditation may be a big help.

Wed 8/1/07 Feeling Self Assured and Ready to Help Others

We may be dealing with some personal problems very early this morning, and watch our for carelessness. Use caution driving, early. Our self assurance will be high today, and we may be ready to help others. We may also be feeling extra sensitive today, so remember to use moderation with any kind of euphoric substances. We may be in the mood for something different tonight. But again, try to stay grounded, because we may not be realistic.

Thu 8/2/07 Sound Judgment, Financial Opportunities, and Quick-witted Conversations

There could be some opportunities for financial gain today, and our confidence level will be high. It could be an excellent day for investing or gambling, so maybe stop and pick up a lottery ticket. Our judgments will be sound, and people will be benevolent. Conversations will go well this morning, and we should find it easy to persuade others to see our point of view. But, late this morning people could become rather irresponsible and emotions could go to extremes. We may not feel like talking early this afternoon, but later we will be ready to start anew. It will be a great evening for social affairs and conversations, and travel will go well. People will be quick-witted and situations could prove rather constructive. Enjoy the night!

Fri 8/3/07 Optimism, Energy, and New Beginnings

Its going to be a rather energetic day, and some will be bold and impulsive. We will be ready to assert ourselves, and even the meekest won’t be afraid to take a stand. We will be feeling very optimistic this morning, and relations with the opposite sex will go very well. The morning staff meeting could be very hot. There may also be a new romance this morning. It will be a great day to pay attention to ourselves, so maybe get a hair cut or buy some new clothes. Just watch out for being too impulsive.

Sat 8/4/07 Accomplish Projects This Morning, Relax and Enjoy the Beauty Around Us Tonight

Its going to be a great morning to accomplish any projects. People will be patient, and our willpower will be strong. We may find ourselves doing things around the house, or we may find ourselves engaging in detailed conversations with family members. Discussions will drop off this afternoon, and we may want to work alone. This evening our moods will turn to beauty, and we won′t be in any hurry. But, we may also be worrying a bit too much early this evening. Later tonight we may want to beautify our surroundings. It would be a great night for shopping.

Sun 8/5/07 Strong Stamina, Concentration, Determination, and Sex Drives

We may be feeling very practical, determined, and a bit opinionated today under the Taurus Moon. People may seem a bit slow, but they will be very diplomatic and flexible. Our stamina will be high, and our sex drives may be rather strong. Our ambitions and our concentration will be high today, but we may use this energy to strengthen what we already know rather than initiate any changes. There may be some conflicts with the opposite sex late this afternoon, but we will be ready for a wonderful dinner this evening.

Caribbean Stud Poker Rules

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

All the games we have looked so far involved betting against other players. But this game is different; here everyone plays against the casino or room which acts as a bank (dealer), paying out all winning bets. To win you have to beat the dealer’s hand, other player’s hands don’t make a difference.

First each player makes an ante (initial blind bet) and is dealt 5 cards face down. The dealer receives 4 cards face down and 1 card face up. Now each player decides whether to fold or play by looking at their cards, if they fold then their ante is lost but if they continue, they have to double their ante-bet.

Now the dealer reveals his hand, but he must have an A-k or higher in order to play his hand, if not the player is paid even money on the ante and also the additional bet is not lost (See the table for odds). If the player’s hand beats the dealer’s, the ante is paid at evens. However, if the dealer’s hand beats the player’s hand then both bets are lost.

Additional Bet Payout odds:

One pair or High card 1/1 (Even)
Two pair 2/1
Three of a kind 3/1

Straight 4/1
Flush 5/1
Full House 7/1
Four of a kind 20/1
Straight flush 50/1
Royal flush 100/1

If the dealer and player play the same poker hand, then remaining cards are taken in to consideration. If all five cards are equal, the hand is void. Neither the ante nor the additional bet is lost. The ranking of suits makes no difference to the hand.

Here the odds are poor; a normal game of poker with seven players will have odds of at least 6/1 which is a great deal better when compared to the minimum odds in this game which is 1/1. Also the odds paid for additional bet are poor. Again there is no skill required and you rely too much on luck. Finally remember you have much better odds of winning money when you are playing for the pot. Good Luck :)

NBA Fullcourt Report - Tuesday

Monday, March 29th, 2010

The NBA playoffs continue on Tuesday night with three more games on the schedule. I have Premium Selections in the two early games between the Nets/Raptors and the Heat/Bulls.

The late game was not strong enough to be an official play, but I do have a full game analysis below.

L.A. LAKERS at PHOENIX (-9½, 207) – Game 2 – 10:35 pm ET (TNT)

The Suns needed a fourth quarter comeback on Sunday in Game 1 and ended winning only 95-87 as a 10½ point favorite. The oddsmakers have now lowered this line as the Lakers fit a solid 60% ATS Game 2 bounce back situation, however my overall power ratings favor Phoenix by 10½ points and my re-scoring model actually had Phoenix winning 107-91 in Game 1 had each team shot their normal percentages from three-point range and from the free throw line.

This is a first round rematch from last year when the Suns faced the Lakers in a #2 versus #7 seed playoff matchup. Phoenix started slowly and trailed 1-3 in the series before dominating Games 5, 6, and 7 to advance to the second round.

Phoenix is a deeper team this season with Amare Stoudamire healthy, while the Lakers are less talented with numerous injuries all year in their frontcourt. The Suns struggles last year and slow start in Game 1 should ensure a more focused effort in Game 2 tonight.

Phoenix is a perfect 4-0 SU in the four head-to-head meetings this season with Kobe Bryant in the lineup, however Phoenix did not win any of those games by more than eight points and the Lakers have a tendency to keep games close versus quality teams.

Can’t Stop Thinking of You

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Baby, I love you!

Can’t stop thinking of you!

Can’t get enough of you!

Am continually blessed

When I’m with you!

Feel like I’m going crazy

When I′m without you.

Yet God always sees me through

And speedily gets me

Back to you.

I value nothing

More than you.

Nothing I have

Nor that which I do.

Heaven comes to earth

When I’m with you

I’m over the moon

Because of you

Everything about you

Genuine, passionate and true

Continually endears me to you

I just want to hold and kiss you

I experience eternal bliss

Beyond time when I’m with you

Stuck am I like super glue

Inseparable are we through and through

Your love more nourishing than honeydew

Your milk makes me like a cow moo!

Intoxicating and invigorating

Is my love for you

Entirely captivated

Am I for you

Whatever the reason

I can’t stop

Thinking of you

You continually come to mind

No matter the day or time

Despite reason and rhyme

Mentally fixated am I

On you

Not knowing what to do

I had to write you

And express my feelings

Yield to my inward leadings

Give way to my affections

Let the waves of emotions roll

Like a scribe on a scroll
Like a bird in the air
Like a child without care
Like a fish swimming in the water
Like a father for his daughter
Like a monkey at the zoo
Girl, I’m crazy for you!
I know not what to do
I can′t stop thinking of you!
