The Saga of Amberlin: Chapter 2

Friday, September 30th, 2005

THE GODDESS RETURNS - The SAGA OF AMBERLIN Continues. In this next year it is my intention to complete my next ‘visionary novel,’ the story of Amberlin, the first ‘fully enlightened being’ who comes to Earth in a female’s body.

I invite your participation by reading the saga of Amberlin as it’s being written and offering constructive questions and comments. Here’s the beginning of Chapter 2 of The Goddess Returns:

Chapter 2

“Top bunk or bottom bunk tonight?” Jonathan asked as he entered Amberlin’s room, even though he knew the answer.

“Bottom, please. The top is too high,” Amberlin replied. As he lowered her into bed, she asked, “Will you tell me a story, Papa Jon? One of your real ones?”

He sat on the bed next to her and chuckled. How she loved his stories, especially the “real” ones about his life growing up that had at least a thread of truth in them. He paused for a moment, trying to think of one he hadn’t told her recently.

“How about the time I met a real spiritual sage?”

“Sure,” Amberlin replied, then, “What’s a spirit sage?”

“Spiritual sage,” Jonathan corrected her. “That’s someone who has devoted their life to seeking a closer relationship with God, and who often shares their spiritual journey with others.”

“What was the spiritual sage′s name?” Amberlin asked as she snuggled down in her bed, preparing for the story.

“His name was Mo Zoloff, and I met him not too far from here, in a retreat center outside of Black Mountain.”

“I know where that is kinda’,” Amberlin said.

“Yes, well, it’s only about an hour or so drive from here, but when I first went there I was staying even closer at my family’s summer cabin, just outside of Black Mountain. It was the summer after I graduated from high school. I wasn’t really a freelance writer yet, but I sure thought I was, or at least I knew that’s what I wanted to be.”

“How did you meet Mo?” Amberlin asked.

“Well, like I said, I heard him speak at this retreat center. I remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was, well let’s see, close to 30 years ago.”

“That’s a long time, Papa Jon.”

“Not really, sweetheart. It’s really just a blinking of God’s eye,” Jonathan replied. Closing his own eyes, he could picture the rustic, assembly hall filled with people, awaiting the start of Master Mo’s talk.

I sat about two-thirds of the way from the front. I could have sat closer but I felt out of my element. This was my first time to be in the presence of an actual guru from India, least that what I thought Master Mo was at the time. You can imagine my surprise when a white man in his mid- to late-30s wearing a white t-shirt and black, baggie pants strolled on stage. There was a sturdy table sitting in the middle of the stage. He stepped out of his sandals and climbed onto the table, where he sat cross-legged facing the audience. The room was already about three-fourths full, but Mo continued to sit there with his eyes closed, meditating, I guess.

As the room filled, he continued to sit quietly, apparently lost in his own reflection. The minutes dragged by. I began to fidget in my chair, as did a number of other people, then we would all grow quiet again in anticipation of Master Mo’s talk.

Finally, the figure in the center of the stage opened his eyes, and gazed around for a moment, a smile growing on his face, before he finally broke the silence. “I’m thrilled to see so many people gather here for a 2-hour silent meditation.” There was a moment of surprised silence as everyone glanced at each other before realizing it was a joke, then the whole audience burst out laughing as Master Mo joined them. As the laughter finally died down, he spoke again. “And so we begin.”

And so we did, and for the next hour I sat mesmerized by the quiet man with the deeply moving and inspiring message. He challenged the audience to look within themselves for their own spark of divinity. He accused our Western culture of looking too much to the East - to places like India and Tibet ¬ for our spiritual sages. He suggested that is was time for us in the Western hemisphere to create our own spiritual leaders, and he even went so far as to suggest that there could be a spiritual sage sitting right there in our own seat.

I was so moved by his message that by the end of the talk, I ignored my customary shyness and approached him on the stage, along with a number of other people enthusiastic about what they’d heard. When it came my turn, I handed Mo my business card. I’d had them printed the week before with my name and phone number on them, and under my name the bold declaration, “Writer.”

“I’d like to help you share your message with more people,” I stammered. Mo smiled knowingly, nodding his head. “Come see me tomorrow - noon time. Don′t be late.”

I nodded in return. I wasn′t sure how I was going to get myself back the next day but I knew I would, and I did. In fact, I was back at the retreat center before 11 o’clock, which was a good thing, because I had failed to ask Mo where we would meet. It took me close to an hour to find out where he was staying. He had one of the dorm rooms just like everyone else, although he wasn′t sharing it with anyone, like most of the retreat participants were.

I knocked lightly on the door, wondering what in the world I was doing there, but then I heard Mo’s calm, soothing voice telling me to enter, so taking a deep breath and squaring my shoulders like my father had taught me, I turned the handle and walked in.

Mo was sitting at one of the desks scribbling in a notebook. Hearing me enter, he looked up from his work and smiled warmly. “Ahh, my young writer friend who is going to make me famous by sharing my message with the rest of the world. Come in my friend. Make yourself comfortable,” he said, pointing to a nearby chair.

As I sat down, I gazed around and realized that the only light in the room, other than that filtering in from the window, came from a dozen or so candles distributed throughout the room.

“I was just capturing some thoughts from my meditation,” Mo explained, noticing my puzzled look. “We can turn on some lights if you prefer.”

“No, this is fine,” I replied, trying to hide my nervousness. “I appreciate your taking time to see me.”

“Oh, it is my pleasure. I am intrigued to meet such a young writer, especially one with such an aura of destiny and premonition surrounding him.” As he said this, Mo stood up from the desk and walked over to the nearby bed where he sat cross-legged.

“First, let’s address the reason you thought you were coming to see me, your interest in writing about me. When I return to my ashram, I will have someone send you background information about my work and me. Upon reviewing it, if you need additional information including an interview, I’ll be only too happy to oblige. Will that work for you?”

“Yeah, sure,” I replied. “That would be great.” Then mustering up my courage, I continued, “What did you mean, the reason I thought I was coming here? For what reason am I really here?”

Mo only smiled at first, nodding his head. “Why, so I could confirm for myself that what I was picking up from you was indeed true, and if true, so I could share it with you.”

“And what did you see?”

“Your manifest destiny,” Mo replied.

“My what?”

“Your manifest destiny,” Mo repeated. “You can think of it as fate - a future event or events that are inevitable. Of course, that might be a bit overstated. We do continue to exercise free choice, so nothing is completely inevitable, although yours might be as close to inevitable as I’ve ever seen.”

I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand at attention as Mo spoke. I wasn’t too sure I wanted to know my manifest destiny, but then again, how could I refuse. After all, at 17 years of age I could use as much help with my future as the next recently graduated high school student. “Pull your chair over next to the bed. Don’t worry. I won’t bite. I just need to make a stronger connection.”

I did as Mo instructed. Funny, looking back on it now, I probably should have been more concerned about what this strange little man might do to me, but for some reason I wasn’t at all. I was mostly concerned that he might tell me that my “manifest destiny” was to be a bum, or to fail at everything I tried.

I sat there in my chair, just a foot or two from where Mo sat on the bed. He instructed me to close my eyes and to take several deep breaths. Around the third or fourth breath, I felt a light pressure on either side of my forehead and realized it was Mo’s hands lightly touching me. They stayed there, just barely perceptible. I started to open my eyes, then thought better of it.

After what felt like a minute or two, I heard a voice. It didn’t sound like Mo but it must have been since there wasn’t anyone else in the room. The voice was about an octave lower than Mo’s and with a strong, foreign accent that I hadn’t heard before or since.

“What did he say, Papa Jon?” Amberlin’s sleepy voice brought Jonathan back to the present, but he continued in silence for a moment before answering.

“Well, sweetie, he told me I was destined to be a protector and preparer - someone who would prepare the way. That’s what he said.”

“A protector and preparer for what?”

“He didn′t exactly say, but he did tell me I would know at the right time,” Jonathan replied, grasping Amberlin’s hand that had snuck out from the cover and squeezing it gently.

“And did you?”

Jonathan pondered the question for a moment before replying.
“I guess I can best answer that question this way. I believe God sometimes gives us a second chance to fulfill our destiny, and I certainly feel like he’s given me a second chance to fulfill mine.”

He paused again, unsure whether to continue, then added. “I feel like you’re my second chance. I’m here to protect you and to prepare you so you can fulfill your own destiny.”

He wasn’t sure whether Amberlin had heard this last comment. Her eyes were now closed and her breathing had become slow and shallow, but as he turned to cut off the light next to her bed, he heard her whisper, “Papa Jon’s my protector and provider,” and she sighed as she turned on her side and snuggled deeper under the covers.

Jonathan leaned over and kissed her temple. “That’s right, sweetheart. As long as there’s breath left in this body, I’ll always be here for you. I won’t make the same mistake twice.” He straightened the covers, then turned and tiptoed from the room, but as he returned to his bedroom, he remembered leaving Mo’s room over 30 years ago.

His hand had been on the door when the question suddenly occurred to him. “Master Mo, could I ask you one last question?”

“What is it, son?”

“Well, it seems to me that, often times, spiritual matters come in three’s, you know, like the Holy Trinity. I was just wondering if there’s a third word to go along with protect and prepare?”

Mo considered the question then smiled. “Yes, you could say there is. It’s purpose. The one you will protect and prepare will bring purpose to the world. Go in peace, Jonathan.”

As Jonathan reached Rose and his bedroom, he braced himself for what he might face on the other side, but as he entered the room he breathed a sigh of relief. Rose was already in bed and apparently asleep.
He quietly changed into his pajamas, then walked over to Rose¹s side of the bed to kiss her goodnight. As he bent over her, he paused and gazed as her face, oh so familiar, after close to 30 years of marriage. He realized now that when he had taken the vow to prepare and protect Amberlin, that it included protecting her from his own wife, and from the whole community where they lived and that Rose was such an integral part of. The task that lay before him loomed much larger than he had, at first imagined — much larger and much more important too.

The First Step and Most Important Thing in Learning Guitar

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Most of the guitar lovers playing guitar for few years but still unsatisfied with their progress. They feel like still stand at the starting point and can’t enjoy their playing. This mainly caused by most of them don’t build up a strong foundation at the begining. I found that some of the guitar learners even just playing guitar for one to two years but are more better than so many that playing for over five years. This is the foundation problems. Me myself was an example when I started playing guitar long time ago.

The secrets of learning guitar are mostly base on the foundation. To have a good foundation for future success,we need three important factors :-

1.Listening:

Ear training is a MUST basic training that every guitar learner should have. But most of them avoid this as quite a boring and time-consuming job. Without a good listening, we are unable to move to higher level.
To overcome this problems, I suggest that guitar learners may choose one of the well known Ear Training software on internet. I found that there are few really good software that will improve your listening step by step and really FUN. You feel like playing game when you learn.

2.Daily practice: (Both fingers and ears)

Daily practice is another important thing we should do.(Ex.fingers exercises, practice for the basic scales)
I suggest that beginners practice PENTATONIC SCALES at the starting point because this scales are the most simple scales that only have 5 tones. Try to practice 20 to 30 minutes daily. Remember that even just 20 minutes of RELAX and CONCERNTRATION DAILY practice is more effective than few hours of unconstant practice.

3.Look for a teacher:

You may find either private guitar teacher or guitar lessons on internet. For my opinions, learn guitar from internet maybe better because of the convinience of time and cheaper. There is just one question of learning from internet that what lessons to choose, what lessons are really work.
Myself as a guitar lover have been playing guitar for 15 years.

I do the research on guitar lessons from internet over 5 years for myself and my groups. I’ve spent a lot of money for it. Recently I just built up my own little web page telling guitar lovers a few good guitar lessons that really work and would like to share with all of you.

If you are interested to learn guitar, please visit my website at

Ho Hums and Doldrums

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Ho hums and doldrums
A state of inactivity or stagnation
A dull, listless, depressed mood
Wherein you are void of inspiration
Possessing a lowly spirit
Perhaps coupled with depression
At the very least inner regression
Sometimes intertwined with repression
Occurring occasionally due to

Disappointment and disillusionment
Outward circumstantial oppression
Which has demoralized
Often beyond comprehension
Crippling one’s intuition
Internal instincts and premonition
Lacking acknowledgment and recognition
Also motivated by overbearing intimidation
Impolite behavior and cruel inconsideration
Throwing one into an emotional situation
Of learned helplessness
Removing one from their life joy and bliss
Without the affection of a hug and kiss
People can become reclusive
Societally isolated and socially elusive
Invasive and evasive
Completely disinterested
Hardly ever motivated
Needing an infusion of divine power
To awake them to their internal deadness
Liberate them from their heaviness
Free them from their funk
Give them some needed spunk
Get them out of their quagmire and gunk
Lest they always be smelly like a skunk
In their personal dealings with people
Whom they devalue and disassociate from
Tending toward self-depreciation
Desiring to flee and run
Due to their lack of feeling
Or sensitivity to undesirable reactions
Perhaps from their peers rejection
Leading to self ostracization
Abandonment and alienation
Removing needful interaction
Incorporation into the family at large
The global populace
The economy of society
The friendly fabric relationally
Without which one feels lonely
Less connected and disinterested
Negative and negligent
Difficult and defiant
Toward the game of life
Tending toward strife
Angry and bitter
Reluctant to get better
Pitiful and pathetic
Lazy and lethargic
Demotivated concerning
The pursuit of happiness
Causing one to be careless.

The ho hums and doldrums
Diminish, destroy, and dumb
Leaving you feeling empty and numb.
Refuse therefore to be bound
By a state of inaction
Regain your life’s passion
You are God’s beloved creation
Pray for the power of the resurrection
To bounce back
From this emotional attack.
Don’t dwell in disappointment
Do away with disillusionment
Read the Bible for a divine deposit
An infusion of strength to shake
Stir and greatly awake
You to your essence and greatness
Invite God’s supernatural Presence
The mighty Spirit of God
To remove all hesitance
Bury your disappointments
And live your dreams
Though life is not always as it seems
Jesus hanging on the cross

Didn’t know what to do?

But then by the power of God

He rose again turning gray skies blue

Triumphing over the grave

Victoriously for me and you!

Securing freedom for humanity

We who are enslaved by depravity

Therefore like Christ

We now can arise

And remove the tears from our eyes.

The pain of the past

We certainly know and realize

Yet the future we cannot despise

If we will only believe

We can live our dreams, if we’ll try

Turn the mess into a message
The pain into personal power
Decide to stand up this very hour
To not let discouragement devour
Your personal passion and progress
Go forward, if necessary fall forward,

In heart don’t be frivolous and froward

Don′t you dare allow yourself to regress
Do something fearless with all boldness!
Believe again, dare to do!
For God in heaven
We equip and empower you

Jesus deeply loves and believes in you!
Therefore partner with Him
To get through
What you’re going through.
As you do
Expect His glory and ability
To break forth in and through you!

Hip-Hop Slop Embarrassing To Oprah

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

There has been a little stink in the press lately regarding Oprah Winfrey’s snub of various hip-hop artists. Several rappers, including 50 Cent, Ice Cube and Ludacris have complained Winfrey is either distant, disrespectful or hostile to hip-hoppers. Of course, Oprah denies it and says she plays some of the music despite never making her show a forum for such individuals.

50 Cent pretty much said Oprah could give a hoot about hip-hop saying she caters to “old white women.” Ice Cube is simply mad in general saying he has never been invited on the show calling himself a “rags-to-riches” story which she should appreciate. Ludacris did appear on the show, but as a promotion for the movie “Crash″ which he had a part.

First, why do these guys care so much? Each one is very rich and will never have to work a real job again in their lives. They have no connection to Winfrey other than the fact all involved are black. But so what? Perhaps something deeper here is at play.

No matter if you like the hip-hop form of music or not, two things are obvious: It sells well and caters to a violent, depraved way of life.
Billions of dollars have been spent to buy cd’s, tapes, etc. The few big-shots in the industry have made alot of money. The promotion of the “bad ass″ image has struck gold. Various record companies spend big dollars to sign rappers ranging from “Snoop” to “Kim.” The above-mentioned individuals are in the “elite” of the industry.

Which brings us back to Oprah. Why wouldn’t she have these people on her show? Or any other ones for that matter? It appears to be simple: She does not need them. Why should Oprah Winfrey, a woman of insane wealth and power; a woman trying to promote a consistently positive image on her show, have on people who brag about being shot or rap about shooting police? It is not a direction she wants to go in and should not.

Let’s look at the record. 50 Cent was a crack-dealer from Queens. His “claim-to-fame” was being shot up so many times without actually dying from it. Then he made his push into the hip-hop world. Does Oprah really need to hear this? Ice Cube, while now known as being an actor, has been an extremely anti-police, anti-authority individual in his rap songs. His one song, “Koreatown,” basically called for the torching and burning of stores in the Korean section of Los Angeles. This along with a positive outlook of the “Rodney King” riots that led to the death of scores of people for the “crime” of being white, Asian or any individual at the wrong place at the wrong time. Again, does Oprah want to touch this past with a 10-foot pole? Rapper Ludacris seems tame in comparison. Just a bunch of “I’m better than you” crap.

Hip-hop has scores of individuals with arrest records not too many engineers and doctors coming from this crew. Shootings, stabbings, drug-dealing, death, are routine along with horrendous social messages. Fast money, quick sex, low-class treatment of fellow citizens are the messages over and over again. Who can blame Oprah for staying away?
As usual, the assault on Winfrey has a great deal to do with her race. Hip-hop is basically black, urban poor. Oprah was a woman from the South with no history in such culture. She had her own traumas growing up but rose to a level as a television reporter before becoming the “Queen.” Hip-hoppers expect her to be “black” and have them on. Oprah has far more respect than that because she knows such a showcase will promote brutal stereotypes of blacks being ill-mannered and violent which hip-hop is.
Only successful black people seem to go through this. Having such people on her show is the equivalent of actor/talk-show host Tony Danza( Italian-American) having on mobsters. He simply would never do it because he does not want to promote the negative stereotypes of Italians. Thus, why should Oprah promote a negative stereotype of African-Americans? She should not.

50 Cent says Oprah caters to older white women. It seems more that Oprah caters to Americans of all types. And whose social messages are far better for a nation, Mr. No Cents or Winfrey? Not even close.

Perhaps the hip-hoppers are resentful for the obvious: They made it through promotion of violence, resentment, hatred, envy and pride. Oprah made it through hard work and decency. Maybe the inferiority complex is showing?

3 Things You Must Do If You Want To Win Money With Online Football Betting

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

Sports Betting on the NFL and college football is a national pastime. Every week millions of dollars are bet on the home town favorites with local bookies. People bet even more money with online sports book agencies. Even the major news services publish all the betting stats. If you′re going to bet money on games, you might as well be as informed as possible! There are even many sports betting sites that provide up-to-the-minute information on your favorite teams and this weeks games. Have you ever wondered how the football betting "smart money" became the smart money? Do you wonder what the football betting smart money does differently than the amateurs? The biggest difference between professional gamblers and the amateurs is that the pros do the following three things no matter what they are betting on. If you do these things, you′ll be well on your way to making money like the pros.

1. You Must Have an Edge

The reason people win money betting on football is because they have some sort of and edge over the other people betting on a game. You must understand that the line on any game is determined by the football books, who make sure that there is an even amount of money bet on both teams. The person with an edge will be able to spot lines that are off in one direction or the other, and then place his or her bet on the side of the "smart" money.

On the other hand, if you don’t have an edge, you are merely guessing, and will be guaranteed to lose money in the long run because of the "juice" you must pay to the bookie when betting on football.

2. Manage Your Money Properly

Money management is the least understood, and most important aspect of football betting. Simply put, money management means controlling how much risk you are going to take on any particular game or bet. To be successful betting on football, you must spread your risk so that being wrong on one game, or even a series of games, does not wipe out your entire betting account.

3. Stay in the Game

Football betting is like anything else -the more you do it, the better you will become at it. The best way to become very good at betting on football is to make sure you stay in the game instead of blowing out your bankroll. This means that you must always make protecting your money your number one priority. Be happy being a singles hitter -those who go for the home runs don’t last long in this game.

So there you have it, the 3 most important things professional gamblers do to make money betting on football. How many of these things do you do now? Just like the teams you’re betting on, the gambler that masters the fundamentals will win more often than not.

10 Tips To Better Outdoor Portraits

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

1. Capture candid moments:
Candid photography is about capturing spontaneous moments, it’s not posed, not forced, and it’s un-obtrusive. The aim here is to show life as it’s happening. The ideal is to get people to either ignore the camera and continue with their activities, or to accept you as a fly on the wall. Photos taken this way tend to look more “real”. Take a photo at a kiddies birthday party while they don’t know you’re around, and you’ll see what I mean. If you’re interacting with the people you want to photograph, make them laugh. Instead of the forced smile you get after you say “cheese”, your subjects will be more relaxed and it shows.

2. Get down to their level:

If you shoot all your subjects from your level, they might appear disproportionate depending on their height. Instead of shooting a child from your level, get down on your knees and shoot them from that viewpoint. This way they won’t look shorter than they are and they don’t have to look up at the camera, forcing the head into an unnatural position. The same goes for photographing pets. Try it and see what a difference it makes to your photos.

3. Watch the head space in portrait photos:

When shooting close ups in portrait (holding your camera on it’s side), fill two thirds of the frame with your subject, leaving just enough space above their head. This will improve your composition, filling the frame with your subject instead of empty space.

4. Shoot in portrait, not landscape:

This is worth exploring if you’re photographing people on their own. When shooting in landscape there really isn’t any way of getting close enough without still leaving empty space next to the subject. Turn the camera on it’s side and you automatically draw the viewer’s eye to the subject, not to a distracting background. This is relevant with most subjects that fit into an upright rectangle.

5. Avoid distracting backgrounds:

When composing a picture, always keep in mind that the background is just as important as the person you’re shooting. Take a minute to look through the viewfinder, searching for distractions. Watch out for lampposts or trees behind your subject that look like it’s growing from their head. Sometimes just moving your subject a little makes a huge difference. When using flash, don’t position your subject in front of a reflective object like a window or mirror, it results in nasty glare that can be avoided with a little planning.

6. Avoid direct sunlight:

The light is softer early morning and late afternoon, much more pleasing than harsh direct sunlight. Unless it’s overcast, midday is the worst time of the day to photograph people outdoors. People will either squint, or their eyes will be cast in shadow, neither being attractive options. If this is your only choice, have them turn around with their back to the sun. This creates beautiful highlights in the hair. Don’t forget to use a lens hood to avoid flare, and never shoot directly into the sun. If you don’t have a lens hood, cup your hand above the lens, it works just as effectively.

7. Use fill flash:

When the sun is behind your subject, your camera might be fooled into thinking there is enough light hitting the subject and the flash won’t automatically pop up. Override this function manually and use flash to “fill in” dark shadows and balance the exposure. Using flash outdoors will improve photos taken in bright sunlight, and as an extra advantage, ads a sparkle to your subject’s eye.

8. Focus on your subject:

If the background is in focus and you’re subject’s not, you’ve lost the photo. Most cameras have a focus point that’s visible in the viewfinder when you press the shutter halfway down. This will indicate what your camera is focusing on. Play around with this, focusing on different subjects at different distances from your lens. Get familiar with this feature, it could save you from blurry pics.

9. Get in close:

Before pressing the shutter, visually crop your photo, excluding anything that might snatch the viewer’s attention away from the subject. The easiest way to do this is to physically move closer to your subject. In some cases it’s even acceptable to crop out some of the person’s head or hair, drawing the viewer to the subject’s eyes instead of a distracting background.

10. Shoot at maximum resolution:

You never know when you’re going to get that shot that deserves to be enlarged. If possible, buy a large memory card so that you won’t feel pressured into shooting at low resolution to accommodate more photos on a memory card. Your photo might be awesome, but if it’s captured at low resolution it will be pixilated when enlarged, the perfect recipe for huge disappointment.

Amy Polumbo - Invasion of Privacy or Much Ado About Nothing

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

Amy Polumbo is the most recent Miss New Jersey and a contestant in the Miss America Pageant. Recently she was a victim of an extortion and blackmail attempt by someone who mailed private photos of her that were featured on her face book account. Was she un-lady like in the photographs? Does she deserve to forfeit her crown as Miss New Jersey for having photos on a face book account? Furthermore where is the line drawn between public figure and invasion of privacy.

Amy Polumbo appeared on the Today Show with her attorney in order to dispel any negative impact that the photos may attained. She went so far as to put the photos on display in front of a national television audience. The fact of the matter is that the photos weren’t racy. They were just photos of a typical college girl being…. Get this, a typical college girl. Maybe it was a publicity stunt. Maybe some sick twisted person actually thought that the photos could be damming. Whatever the case was, all the photos served in accomplishing was wasting news time from things of more critical importance as well show America that we really have nothing better to do then conjure up non-issues on slow news days.

The larger issue at hand is where is the privacy line drawn. Well the privacy line stands firmly where it always has. Those things that are truly private are rarely brought to light unless they aren’t really private. Facebook isn’t private. In fact it is a public website. Photos published on face book aren’t necessarily private. In fact that’s an oxymoron. How can one publish something privately. Maybe there’s a caveat missing here, but I didn’t know you could publish something privately. The mere fact that something is available on the World Wide Web dispels that notion immediately. Plus all the photos of her were taken in public places. Many people could of taken the photos. The whole issue is textbook Hollywood sensationalism and these news outlets need to be more professional and stop behaving like grocery store rags.

Free Music Downloads – The New Internet Craze

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

When you are a music enthusiast, you are permanently striving to take your passion for music to the next level by regularly updating your music collection and looking for information on your favorite artists and bands. Considering the fact that most offline music resources charge considerable fees for music purchases (CDs, cassettes and old records), lots of young music enthusiasts are turning to the Internet for satisfying their insatiable passion for music.

Websites that offer members and / or visitors the opportunity to download free music online and to keep the pace with the latest musical trends and rumors have become increasingly popular in the last few years, drawing thousands of visitors to their online pages every day. By allowing people to access the latest information regarding their favorite bands, solo artists, future concerts and various other music events, as well as enabling them to find and download music from an extensive, well-structured database free of charge, free music download-offering websites are much appreciated by all categories of age, especially the young!

With so many free music download-offering websites out there, the task of finding and downloading your favorite songs is quick and simple. Among the myriad music websites accessible online it is virtually impossible not to find your favorite music in free downloadable format. However, it is important to note that music downloads generally become free only after a certain amount of time, and only if the artists / bands allow it. Thus, due to perfectly understandable reasons, to find freshly released songs from your favorite music artists in free downloadable format and fully compliant with copyright regulations is very difficult. Ignoring this minor disadvantage, free music download-offering websites completely deserve the great popularity and the excellent feed-back they have been receiving these days.

Although the Internet is filled with free music download-offering websites, it is important to separate the good websites from the rest in order to obtain the best results. When you are looking for high-quality music downloads (the best music downloads are usually compressed in 128 kb/s or higher mp3 or WAV format), an extensive, well-organized and regularly updated free music download library and the latest news regarding your favorite music artists and bands, you should only stick with the serious, reliable and dedicated websites. Once you have found the website that can efficiently service your needs and requirements, you can enjoy music downloads and stay in touch with the latest music news free of charge and with minimal effort.

While some free music download-offering websites are only addressed to music fans, others also enable existing and aspiring bands and artists to promote their music online and achieve better exposure. For the unsigned artist, such websites are the perfect place to start building a successful, long-lasting and rewarding musical career. With the help of the previously mentioned websites, unsigned artists and bands can post demo songs, shows, photos, as well as communicate with fans and meet other artists to collaborate with in the future. Nevertheless, this innovative feature greatly improves the prospects of unsigned artists to get noticed by industry professionals and thus accelerate their way to fame and success. Unlike regular free music download-offering websites, the ones that account for both the needs of aspiring artists and music listeners deserve extra attention and appreciation from music enthusiasts.
